[14.30 GMT] People are asking about the hostage-negotiator-kidnapped story. At this stage, I can add nothing more than what's in the reports below. Except to observe that in the dangerous and rumour-filled world of abductions in Iraq, it seems best not to feed allegations unless they have at least two or three strong backers from known, reliable sources. Nothing of that kind has yet emerged on this one. But that doesn't stop news agencies spreading it.
