WHICH WAY TO EQUAL RIGHTS?
The feelings against the appointment of a senior evangelical Black church leader to the Commission on Equalities and Human Rights (CEHR) continue to run strong on PinkNews.co.uk - understandably, because of his organisation's stance against homosexuality. I still think that there is opportunity, not just constraint, in all this. But it's going to be tough. I have responded to an accusation that this view amounts to excusing discrimination and mistreatment, on which Desmond Tutu has been rightly outspoken in a BBC broadcast due on 27 November 2007.
